Soap and glory one heck of a blot

Although I don’t see a remarkable difference with the appearance of pore size, it is amazing at controlling shine and increasing the longevity of my makeup. I am actually really impressed with this primer, more so than anything else on the highstreet.

This primer leaves the skin feeling soft and looking instantly more matte. I often find silicon-based primers tend to coat the face or, in the case of Nip + Fab’s Viper Venom, break away and ball-up when foundation is applied on top. The gel-like cream applies effortlessly, absorbing easily without leaving any residue. Is it me or are ‘drugstore’ brands becoming more and more expensive? Just a thought. Its packaging features Soap & Glory’s signature shade of baby pink, beautiful vintage pinup girls and cheeky slogans and retails at £10 for 30ml of product.

One Heck of a Blot claims to contain ‘Shine-Bloc 12HR Matte Spheres and Pore-Shrink Technology’ and markets itself as ‘the secret to perfect shine-free skin’. My most recent purchase is Soap & Glory’s One Heck of a Blot Instant-Perfecting Power Primer which was introduced to me through Laura Lee’s YouTube Channel. One Heck of a Blot is £12 and the kabuki brush is £9.I’ve been searching for a drugstore primer for several months now. My first impressions of NYX Pore Filler were positive, however, I couldn’t escape the fact that it didn’t completely wow me like Porefessional did the undisputed holy grail of primers. I’ve also tried L’oreal’s Infallible Mattifying Primer, the SEVENTEEN Skin Wow Primer and Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Primer, however, they didn’t perform anywhere close as good. It is lovely and soft and has the perfect density for picking up a good amount of product.Ĭonsidering how fantastic these products are, their high street price tag makes them a great option for any budget. It is a travel sized kabuki brush which is perfect for popping in your handbag. I like to apply this powder with the Soap and Glory Face and Body Brush, which is a match made in heaven. As with all Soap and Glory products, the packaging is fantastic with a fun, glamorous, vintage feel. There is a powder puff in the compact but it’s not great and I threw mine away.

The powder comes in a well made, sturdy compact that has a good sized mirror in the lid which is perfect for touch ups during the day. I have been carrying mine around in my handbag so that I have it with me at all times and, as you can see, I have already hit pan. It mattifies and sets your makeup flawlessly and has good lasting power. The powder is extremely finely milled and doesn’t look cakey or chalky on the skin. However as a result, it does not offer any coverage at all.

It is a translucent powder which means that it is perfect for all skin tones you don’t have to worry about finding the right shade for you and it can be worn all year round. I bought this powder a few months ago to replace my Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder and I have been really enjoying it. Is it just me or has anyone else been loving Soap and Glory makeup lately? They have really been knocking it out of the park recently and I have been particularly impressed with their One Heck of a Blot face powder paired with the Face and Body Brush.
